In response to recent bandit attacks in Kebbi, Governor Idris has called an emergency security meeting

In light of the recent bandit attacks that have occurred in several sections of Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris called an emergency security meeting on Friday.
Gathering at Birnin Kebbi’s Government House, security players assessed the current state of affairs and bolstered plans to counter new dangers to impacted populations.

During his remarks, the governor voiced his alarm over the recent incidents and restated the administration’s resolve to combat instability and safeguard lives and property.

In an effort to reduce criminal activity and regain public trust, Idris stated that the state administration would maintain its tight cooperation with security services.

No one discovered to be an informant will be spared or tolerated by my administration. He assured everyone that those responsible would be held accountable and that justice would be done.

Despite persistent security threats, the governor praised the state’s security forces for their work in keeping the calm.

In order to prevent banditry and other crimes, he urged the locals to provide security operatives with credible and timely information.

“Information should not be withheld; it should be shared promptly,” he stressed.

Bandit activity in certain areas of Kebbi State has rekindled fears of insecurity in rural areas, prompting increased demands for greater action, which has led to the convening of this summit.
