Thousands of people have been watching the drama that is developing in a social media scandal involving well-known Kannywood actress Hadiza Gabon, businessman Salim Goje, and his wife, Hafsat Kamal. The controversy has continued to elicit strong responses on a number of platforms.
The scandal started late on Friday night when Salim Goje’s wife, Hafsat Kamal, purportedly posted images and videos on Instagram Live that she said showed her husband’s interactions with multiple women.
Hafsat presented what she characterised as exchanges between Salim Goje and several ladies, including well-known Kannywood actress Hadiza Gabon, during the live show.
After screenshots allegedly displaying Hadiza Gabon and Salim Goje’s WhatsApp discussions started making the rounds on social media, the dispute grew more heated.
Hafsat Kamal purportedly posted screenshots of the couple having private, sexually provocative talks.
Hadiza Gabon was allegedly spotted discussing plans to visit Saudi Arabia and begged Salim Goje to cover the cost of her plane ticket in one of the exchanges that went viral on the internet.
Although the screenshots’ veracity has not been independently confirmed, they soon became one of the most talked-about aspects of the debate.
Additionally, Hafsat accused a number of other women—some of whom she claimed were married—of continuing to have encounters with her husband.
She also accused Shafa Ardo, Salim’s first wife, of using spiritual methods to keep her from having children.
Hadiza Gabon has not yet replied.
Hadiza Gabon has not officially addressed the accusations or the screenshots that are making the rounds online as of the time this piece was filed.
After working in the entertainment industry for almost thirty years, the actress is still regarded as one of the most revered people in Kannywood.
In addition to starring in a number of hit films, she is the host and founder of “Gabon Talkshow,” a well-liked interview program with celebrities, performers, and entertainers.
The actress, who is still one of the most well-known figures in the northern Nigerian film business, could have her reputation damaged if the accusations turn out to be accurate, according to observers.
Video Shows an Attempt to Get to the Wife’s Home
Shortly after the Instagram Live session started, another video that has been making the rounds online purports to show Salim Goje trying to enter Hafsat Kamal’s home.
But according to reports, the house was locked.
Hafsat was clearly upset during the webcast, claiming that unknown people were trying to break into her house.
She was heard telling viewers, “Lock the window, lock the door,” several times in what sounded like fear.
Thousands of people watched the thrilling webcast, and reports suggested that interested locals congregated outside as the incident swiftly became a hot topic of conversation.
Shafa Ardo Responds
Shafa Ardo, Salim Goje’s first wife, responded to Hafsat’s accusations on social media by denying that she was to blame for Hafsat’s infertility.
Screenshots that are making the rounds online show Shafa writing:
“You are not a secretive woman. All of the things you accuse others of doing to you occurred before to your marriage. Before being married, you even travelled to Saudi Arabia with him.
She also denied claims that she had infertility problems.
“You are aware of what is keeping you from becoming a parent. She allegedly said, “It has nothing to do with me.”
Diverse Responses to Allegedly Leaked Chats
Some internet users voiced dissatisfaction, claiming that public figures ought to behave appropriately for their position.
Others advised caution, pointing out that display names and screenshots by themselves do not provide conclusive evidence of validity.
“People should wait for proper evidence before rushing to judgement,” remarked one X user. On the internet, anyone can use someone else’s name or image.
“It will be disappointing if these chats are genuine because many young people look up to these personalities,” remarked a different commenter.
As users continue to debate the veracity of the leaked conversations and the accusations surrounding them, memes, jokes, and criticism have also proliferated on social media.
Silence Is Broken by Salim Goje
Salim Goje posted a quick Facebook post late on Thursday night in Fulfulde, but he hasn’t explicitly addressed the accusations.
“Allah hokka kowa no wada,” he wrote. Amin.
“May Allah guide everyone to what is good” is how the phrase is translated. Amen.
While many people sympathised with the businessman, others suggested that he concentrate more on handling family issues in private rather than letting personal conflicts unfold on social media.
Many observers are waiting for formal statements from the parties concerned, especially Hadiza Gabon and Salim Goje, questioning the veracity of the purported texts and the claims that are currently making the rounds on social media.
