Buni names the commissioner as Ngazargamu’s new emir.

Alhaji Yerima Ibn Mahmud has been appointed as the new Emir of Ngazargamu by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.

This was said in a statement released on Friday and signed by Mohammed Goje, the Acting Secretary to the State Government.

The appointment comes after Alhaji Tijjani Ibn Saleh Geidam, the late Emir, died recently in Egypt following a protracted illness and was buried in Damaturu today.

The current Mai Ngazargamu held the customary title of Turakin Ngazargamu for sixteen years prior to his appointment.

In addition, he was a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly, the State Executive Council, and the Commissioner for Livestock Development at various points in time.

While greeting the new Emir and the Ngazargamu Emirate, Governor Buni encouraged him to use his wealth of expertise to bring people together, advance peace, guarantee peaceful coexistence, and spur economic progress in the emirate, Yobe State, and Nigeria.

The governor also urged the populace to assist the new Emir in carrying out his duties with diligence, effectiveness, and efficiency for the good of the populace as well as the peace, unity, and prosperity of the emirate.
