Gateway Airport elcomes second group of Ogun hajj pilgrims

A second group of Ogun State residents making the Hajj journey in 2026 have touched down at Iperu’s Gateway International Airport.

The 345 worshippers touched down in Ogun State on Friday at precisely 5:12 p.m. They had flown in on an Airbus A330 operated by Flynas straight from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. that around 10 p.m. on Thursday, the initial group of 345 pilgrims reached Ogun State.

Receiving An impressive feat in Ogun State’s history, according to the second group’s Amirul Hajj for the 2026 trip, Alhaji Shamsideen Apelogun, was the direct conveyance from Saudi Arabia to the Gateway International Airport.

He was overjoyed to have been one of the first pilgrims to fly internationally out of the airport.

Apelogun expressed gratitude to Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State, for his unfaltering dedication to ensuring the successful completion of the Hajj trip in Saudi Arabia in 2026, as well as for his paternal support.

To make sure the pilgrims were well taken care of, he stated, “Governor Abiodun was present throughout their stay in Medina and Makkah, consistently reaching out to enquire about their welfare and well-being.”

He praised the pilgrims from Ogun State for their outstanding behaviour in the Holy Land, saying that the state was praised by Hajj stakeholders for their discipline and compliance with regulations.
