Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the spiritual director of AMEN’s Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria, has publicly discussed his previous relationship with Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and former governor of Anambra State. He claims that he took considerable risks in order to support Obi during his impeachment process.
In response to criticism from some of Obi’s fans, Mbaka made the comments on Friday during a church program.
The cleric insisted that many of the people who now openly support the former governor were not present when Obi was impeached as governor of Anambra State, and he claimed to have played a significant role behind the scenes.
Mbaka disputed allegations that he had not helped Obi and declared that he was not an issue for him.
The cleric also mentioned a number of others, including Chris Uba and Cletus Ibeto, who he claimed were witnesses to the events leading up to Obi’s impeachment.
Mbaka insisted that his dedication to his people drove his activities, emphasising that he views himself as “a solution, not a problem.”
Mbaka’s statement: “Listen, even though Peter Obi was impeached as a governor, he is still alive. Father Mbaka, there was a late-night effort to assemble the necessary paperwork to bring him back!
“How did I fail to assist myself? He doesn’t see me as an issue. Is it an issue if he shows up to the bazaar and doesn’t want to do anything?
“All I did for Peter, none of these people who are crying Obi, Obi…can’t do a hundred percent of what I did for Peter Obi.”
When he was impeached as governor, 99.9% of his supporters deserted him, which was the risk I took for him.
We will be able to identify the people who loved the deceased when he was alive if the corpse begins to smell.
Chris Uba (Eselu) is still alive, so go ask him. Ibeto is still alive. I’ll just list a handful of people who were present in the inner room where the events took place.
“People will just talk about things they don’t know and make mouths. For my people, I mean a lot. I adore my people. I’m not a problem, I’m a solution.
