Two children and the sister of the former power minister Adelabu rescued

Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the former minister of power, and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, who are twelve years old, were rescued by the Nigerian police.

A rescue operation was carried out on Saturday (today), and they were rescued alive.

Channels Television reports that police officers engaged in a gun duel with two alleged kidnappers, neutralising them and recovering two firearms from the group.

Those who remember were kidnapped at approximately 7:30 in the morning on June 3, 2026, on the way to drop the kids off at school.

The kidnappers were brought to a standoff with operatives after being the subject of persistent intelligence tracking and tactical pressure, according to Channels Television’s reporting from police sources. As a result, the victims were successfully rescued.

The source further disclosed that the search for fugitives from the kidnapping ring is ongoing, with some individuals reportedly escaping with gunshot wounds.
